For myself, 2011 has been a year of great achievement and happiness. I am proud of my accomplishments.
I started the year with reaching lifetime membership at weight watchers and what a great start that was for me. This made me an official service provider with weight watchers, which is honestly the best job I could ever ask for. I absolutely love what I do. Being able to be apart of members lives, week after week, really is something special and I couldn't be more thankful.
I ran 3 full marathons and two half marathons. BMO Vancouver, rock and roll Seattle, Goodlife fitness Victoria marathon, oak bay half marathon and McNeil bay half marathon. I could probably write a book for each race in regards to what I learned, what I could do or did differently, and what moments I had to dig deep. I have run over 2000 km this year and I can't remember one moment before my weight loss, that I ever imagined this would be a sport that I used to define who "Jenn Jones" is. I have found a passion and I love what I have discovered about myself through it.
I started leading a meeting at weight watchers full time aimed at people of a younger age. This is something I have always wanted to do. As a member, I felt frustrated that I was the youngest in my weekly meeting. I also found that many members that I sat with in meetings were either not active or their activity of choice was walking. For me, walking did not cut it. I liked really feeling like I was worked hard. I wanted to make a meeting for people of a younger age, so they could connect with regards to struggles they face in social situations, school, work, or to do with activity.
I met the most amazing man. June 4th this year, I was invited to a hockey playoff party for game 2. I am a big Canucks fan and was slightly hesitant to go as I wasn't totally feeling up to it. But I realized I needed some time out of the apartment and decided to go anyway. I went and little did I know, a strapping young lad would be at said party. He came in wearing a yellow shirt, a ball cap from his 2000 mile hike (which totally impressed me), army green cargo shorts, and his bright blue eyes and light curly hair. Not only was he a looker, but he was kind, sweet, funny and such a positive soul. I had instant butterflies. The next day we went to the beach, tossed the football around and I won him over with my awesome arm. We kept in touch while I was a bridesmaid in Maui, we skyped, emailed and texted. He picked me up at the ferry and we got lunch and went back to my place. He showed me the sideshow of his hike of the Appalachian trail with his dad. The final slides he had Photos of a whiteboard that read "Jenn, will you be my girlfriend." and of course I said yes. He knows how to make me laugh, smile and calm me down in times of anxiety. He supports me and all my future ventures. He is the most positive influence and positive person i know, and he makes me so proud of everything he has and will accomplish. He is everything I could have asked for.
Thank you everyone for an amazing year! Thanks for the amazing comments and thanks for subbing on YouTube too! You all rock! Cheers to a new year and remember, it's choice not chance that decides whether of not you achieve what you want to achieve. You won't see change unless you do something about it. Keep positive and keep working hard.
Cheers! Xo
