Food Loggin' for the next few weeks!

So I have to tame the wild beast that I call a “marathoners appetite” for the next few weeks. So I have come to the conclusion that I will food blog everything I eat. That way I can stay accountable. The Tone it up girls said in their video recently “if you wouldn’t tweet it, don’t eat it!” and I love that. So here we go.

Last night I sat down and made a spreadsheet of my next 5 days in terms of meals. I feel this will keep me in line for the next few days. I need to be completely strict with myself, so this will be a good start.

So here we go.

I started my morning with an apple and an egg scramble consisting of oregano, veggies, 1/4 cup of egg whites, and one whole egg.( 1/4 cup avocado and 2 table spoons of medium salsa on top) and 2 strips of turkey bacon. I had one cup of plain black coffee and 1 glass of my glucosamine mixture (with 284985732 different vitamins..).

For vitamins I take:

-Vitamin C
-Vitamin D
-Multivitamin
-and at the moment I am taking Cold FX to fight the post marathon bug (fun fact, marathoners are more susceptible to colds post race as their immune system is weaker then.)

I then got dropped off at the gym by Mister Matt and did 45 minutes of low impact cardio (30 min elliptical and 15 minutes recumbent bike). Then moved to do some upper body and core strength training. Total Calorie burn: 355 calories

After the gym I had a Banana, then at school I had my Greek Yogurt. I packed an apple with Dark Chocolate Peanut butter for dipping for my snack after lunch as well.

For lunch I packed a ton of raw veggies and 4 oz. of Chicken breast. Broccoli, snow peas, cucumber, and carrots.

After hammering out half of my midterm essay for my Gender and Human rights class (one of my favorite classes!) with my friend Emmy at a local cafe, Matt picked me up and took us home. I made us dinner and was smart enough to forget to take a picture. So I put in the effort to give you a visual anyway.. YOU ARE WELCOME ;)

I had 3 oz chicken breast, veggies and quinoa cooked in chicken broth. Yum

Now just having tea and watching some TV/ playing words with friends with my hunny :). Sorry for forgeting to take the picture, just slipped my mind!

Happy to say today was a great day and that I stayed completely on my plan! Tomorrow I will be eating dinner out, so I am planning ahead for that one. So there may not be a photo, I will try my best!

Night!

Love it, Jen! Also, thanks for the facts about post-marathon life. . .not that I'm anywhere close to running a marathon, but it's good to know that the care of oneself extends beyond the following day!
