Double Blog Whammy!

Yesterday was one heck of a day. After one hour of sleep, I was so not wanting to get up at 6:45 am, but I did it for my pace group at run club. I snuck out the door to get to the bus stop by 7:20. I had to be at where we usually meet by 8 am because it was a field trip run day, so the store manager gave me a ride. I stopped for a cup of dark roast coffee at Starbucks on the way though. It was DEFINITELY one of those mornings. We drove out to Lochside trail. I wish I had my camera, it was absolutely gorgeous.

We were scheduled to run 16 km (9.94 miles) and I was doing this with one hour sleep? Yes, I am crazy. My pace group didn't end up driving out there bus I still had some people to run with as per usual. We went pretty hard out of the gates, but let back to a better pace eventually. Ran an average pace of 5:49/ km and ran the 16 km in 1:32:28. I felt like throwing up a few times, but it was done with thank goodness! I am glad we got such a beautiful morning! Oh and I earned 17 points plus vales. SCORE!

I walked home with a friend. How did I walk home? I have no idea. My quads and lower back were SO tight after the run, its a miracle I walked the 1.5ish km home instead of bussing! I really shouldn't have done that lower body workout on Saturday! I decided that I needed to relax my beat up body with a nice relaxing candlelit bubble bath.

Felt so good! It made me even more sleepier then I already was. So I put some foot cream on my feet and struggled into my tight compression socks and slipped on my favourite UGG slippers.

Pretty nice ensemble if I do say so myself! Then I marched right off to bed and snoozed for 3 hours...hehe

I woke up absolutely starving and decided a much needed Thrifty's run should be made. Going to the grocery store starving is generally a bad idea..but went well! I did sniff around the bakery and the prepackaged food sections for longer then I needed to, but I ended up coming out of their with lots of fruit and a few candies. (my sweet tooth has been terrible this week!) I only took about an ounce or two worth from the bulk section of the candies! :P

And for dinner? well, I got super lazy and was super sore and opted for something fast and easy...air pop popcorn (3 pointsplus) with a tablespoon of margerine (1 pointplus).

Now as for today..Today has been ridiculously productive. I woke up at 6 am for a morning Yoga class with a friend. Unfortunately, I got a call from her when I was already on the bus saying she couldn't go and I didn't know where the studio was so I went straight home. I popped my laundry in the machine right at 7 and started off with some tea and a mango.

After dealing with laundry and a paper I am in the process of writing, I had a craving for an omelette. Which is super unusual! I have never even made an omelette before...until now!

This is a two egg omelette with jalapeƱos, onions, mushrooms, salsa and a little bit of left over refried beans in it. It was DELICIOUS! (6 pointsplus) with my 0 pointplus grapes!

After getting my fix of egg for the morning I waltzed over to Serious Coffee for a dark roast coffee and some work time. I have half of my midterm take home exam finished. Just 1200 word essay left!

After finishing that up, I tried to motivate myself to do something active. I was far to tight for a run and hot yoga was out of the question for that same reason. So I pulled out and dusted off this old DVD. I haven't done a workout DVD in ages. They aren't generally my thing, but hey! it got the job done!

I used to do the Bootycamp Fitness bootcamps when they were offered in Victoria. I loved them! I did the "Ab-salute" episode of this tape. Felt great!

I then hopped on the bus to meet a friend for some Vietnamese pho. Yummy! My favourite! Chicken noodle!

Then I decided to have a little wander around town to stretch out my legs a bit and found myself suddenly in The Market on Yates . I realized I had no protein in my apartment..just fruits and veggies. So I picked up a Montreal roasted chicken. I also picked up some frozen berries and an Aloe Juice. However, to my surprise, the pointsplus value on the Aloe was RIDICULOUS. 2 pointsplus for a third of the bottle..GRR!

Tonight Cody is taking me out for dinner. He is sailing for a bit and leaves on Thursday, I will be missing him a lot. I have chose Zambri's . I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for ages! So hopefully we will be able to get in tonight.

How do you feel about fitness tapes/DVDs? Do you enjoy them?

Hi Jen,

I've been watching your YouTube vids for a long time and I really love them. I am so glad you started a blog, I can't wait for more posts.

Btw that omelette looks so very yummy :P

I am not a huge fan of workout dvds, I mean, I do enjoy them but they can get boring if you don't have a big collection. I'd love to try the Booty Camp Fitness dvd tho, I heard great things about it... too bad I can't get it here in Italy.

Oh and great job on the 16km. I seriously don't know how you did it! I really can't function on 1h sleep... let alone run for 16km haha!

Thanks for watching and reading! I have been having fun with this blogging thing. The Bootycamp Fitness DVD is great, but its only good if I am able to focus on it. I am so bad with fitness DVDs! I much rather be moving outside or in a gym or something!
