I started my day off with peanut butter on toast (5 pointsplus) with my friend the 0 pointsplus banana, and a coffee. I also had 2 large glasses of water. I have been slacking on the water lately so I am getting back into it. Hydration is key to training!
With all this stress, and all the sick people around me, I have been feeling a little "off." I rarely get sick now days but I felt something was up. So I made sure I had my multivitamins and some cold fx. I swear by these things when I feel a little off. I was out of my usual multivitamin so I decided to try the multivitamins I was given with my race package after the marathon.. Yes that is Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod on the front ;) BODY BREAK!
I was very "doddily" (as my Mother would say) this morning, which is very rare. I am very scheduled and go-go-go all the time. Thankfully I got to the bus on time for school. I had already had about 1.5 Litres of water once my first class was done. (yay!) Then I went to my usual cafe for a peppermint tea and fruit cup. I was craving some small protein or something so I bought a cheese pack? is that what I would call it? sure.
After class, I got home and had a rumbly in my tumbly and since I hadn't hit up the local grocery store yet I decided to rummage in my cupboards for something to have. I found from Amy's Chili (5 pointsplus a cup). Yummmy!
(confession alert)
Now this is where I sort of hit a wall. Today I really realized that my relationship with food is always going to be something I will have to work on. I had a week moment and ate a bunch of things and way too much of it. At least they weren't unhealthy foods, but it was unhealthy in the amounts I consumed it in. But I moved on and forced myself on a run that I TRULY did not want to go on. I was tired, had a food baby (as I like to describe that feeling of over fullness) and was certainly feeling down. But I got into my running kit and shoved myself out that door. I ran 7.6 km (4.7 miles) in about 46 minutes or so.. which is pretty slow for me but like I said..I devoured a huge amount of unnecessary food and I was exhausted from a long week. The point is, I WENT. That means I have run 31 km this week (19.3 miles), which is what I am most proud of. I will have run 50 km (31 miles) by the end of the week because I have a 19 km on Sunday.
(exhales sharply) WELL now that is off my chest...
I jumped in the shower after realizing I should have run over to the grocery store because I have absolutely NO time tomorrow. So, like the classy lady I am, I towel dried my hair..put on some lululemons and a hoodie, and went to the store. I was out of EVERYTHING I usually eat.
I then got all purdied up. I was meeting a good friend for dinner at the Bengal. Love that place. We both decided to get a little dressied up, because it is a somewhat nice place. I decided a LBD (little black dress) and heels was the way to go.
But because I had that little food breakdown part way through the day, I was barely hungry. So I went with chicken breast and a salad. Could not finish it all but it was lovely. (sorry for the blurry photo, it was mighty dim in the restaurant and didn't want to make a big flash with my camera :P)
I decided to walk home because I just felt so uncomfortably full and I only live a few blocks down the way. I also wanted to get a lovely picture of the legislature buildings for you guys.
I love how they have the lights on the building all year around. So pretty. This is also the site of the finish line for the marathon. But now it is time for an early bed time. I am absolutely pooped! I have to be up at 6 tomorrow morning as I am working the 9 am meeting. Night all!
